Tri State Monument

The marker where Nevada, Arizona and Utah come together, just north of Mesquite, and the place that gives the Tri-State area its name.

About Tri State Monument

Just north of Mesquite, a trail leads to the Tri State Monument, the marker where the corners of Nevada, Arizona and Utah come together. It is the point the whole book is named around: the Tri-State area that All Around Mesquite sets out to cover.

When The Progress wrote about the book in December 2023, its photograph showed "local businessman and author Dustin Berg with his wife Jessica on the trail at Tri State Monument just north of Mesquite." The monument is the kind of place the book was written for: a destination a short ride from town that most people drive past without knowing it is there.

The book's Did You Know? fact sheet puts the geography in one line: "Uniquely, you can experience three states and three different time zones within a 30-minute drive from the city." The time zones get their own chapter, "The Confluence of Time Zones: The Tri-State Experience," in the book's second historical part, and the introduction opens with a Timeline of the Tri State Area.
